Complex Carbohydrates:

This covers a whole range of foods, our specific interest is whole cereal grains.
Whole cereal grains do not raise blood sugar (if chewed well) and therefore do not effect insulin production a major contributor of aging in the body. Always soak grains like Rice and Barley overnight. Always chew whole grains very well, at least 3 times a mouthful. The grains should be like liquid when swallowed. This is very very important.

  • Small/medium/long grain Organic Brown Rice
  • Organic Barley
  • Organic Corn
  • Organic Buckwheat
  • Organic Whole Oats
  • Organic Porridge Steel Cut Oats ( for a great nourishing breakfast cook porridge and add table spoon of coconut oil and raw honey just before serving
  • Good quality noodles made from Buckwheat called Soba and Brown Rice called Udon

Vegetables:

The more the better use organic or even better grow your own.
Choose a balance of vegetables growing beneath the ground, above and round vegetables like Onions and Squash. Especially important some type of leafy greens every day.

Greens, can also be sautéed in Coconut oil, added to soups. Have every day and vary the types
Best to eat locally indigenous vegetables don’t eat lots of tropical vegetables if you live in a cold place

Protein:>>>> Meats, Fish and Beans:
Again common sense is applicable here, avoid all non-organic forms of meat. If you can always eat grass fed beef. As a rule in the west we eat far to much animal protein. Its better to use small amounts in soups and as a portion on the plate. Increase the proportion of vegetables and use smaller proportions of animal protein.

Very good to make soups with the bones of animals use lots of root vegetables cut in large pieces to add sweetness and at end of soup add leafy greens like Kale, or Chinese Leaf or Spring Onions
This will add color and more vitamins and minerals. You don’t need to eat any of the meat all the goodness is transferred to the broth so you can eat the vegetables and drink broth. This soup is very strengthening, and useful for weak people or if recovering form sickness, childbirth etc...
